Carey Gatti, LAC has a passion for helping youth overcome challenges while discovering and expanding upon their existing strengths. She has extensive training in treating anxiety, OCD, BRFBs, depression, and Autism Spectrum Disorders.
Combining a decade of experience working with children and adolescents in various settings with a compassionate, integrated approach to counseling, Carey assists clients in achieving optimal well-being. It is her belief that through age-appropriate, individualized services that foster emotional literacy, positive self-talk, and skill-building, her clients can improve self-esteem, build resilience, enjoy more fulfilling relationships, and live happier, healthier lives.
Carey also has many years of personal and professional experience working with individuals with special needs and believes in the power of creativity in therapy through the use of play, art, music, and movement. She incorporates Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative therapy, and mindfulness in her work.
She received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Rider University and was awarded a Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The College of New Jersey (TCNJ).
In her free time, Carey enjoys reading, the outdoors, and spending time with loved ones, including her two dogs. She is an avid animal lover and advocate and is pursuing a certificate in animal-assisted therapy.
