Rachel Annunziata

Rachel Annunziata, a Counseling Intern at CFCE, is currently attending Chestnut Hill College to pursue a Masters in Counseling Psychology with a focus on trauma, and with plans to further her learning and experience in a PsyD program upon completion of her master’s degree.  Rachel graduated from Stockton University with a BA in Psychology. She also holds an AS degree in Addiction Studies and completed the academic and supervision requirements for the Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor credential.

Rachel brings with her much experience in the drug and alcohol field, where she was a recovery support specialist, admissions coordinator, and intake coordinator.  As a CADC intern, Rachel provided individual and group counseling at an intensive outpatient program for Drug Court mandated clients.  She has also worked as a treatment associate at a long-term residential facility, where she helped adolescents with behavioral health issues and addiction.  Rachel values the learning and experience that is needed to provide high quality mental health services to clients.

Rachel has a strong interest in helping others heal from trauma and weaving attachment perspectives into her clients’ healing, allowing for space to understand childhood trauma and how this can impact present experiences. She brings an affirmative, authentic, supportive presence to her work and focuses strongly on the genuine, collaborative relationship with her clients. Rachel’s top priority is providing a non-judgemental space for clients to receive support.  She works from a psychodynamic and object relations lens, integrated with other modalities including client-centered, Cognitive Behavioral, Mindfulness, and family systems. She has experience supporting clients with substance use disorders, trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and depression.

Self-care is very important to Rachel, as she believes that “you can’t pour from an empty cup.” In her free time, Rachel enjoys spending quality time with her wife and fur babies, playing guitar and drums, and binge-watching Netflix shows.
