Allison Dawalt

Supporting children, teens, and young adults in finding their voice and building resilience.

Hi, I’m Allison! I believe that for a child or teen, “play” is their most important work and their most natural language. As a counseling intern completing my Master’s at La Salle University, I am dedicated to helping the next generation navigate the “big feelings” that come with growing up—from the “what ifs” of Anxiety and OCD to the everyday challenges of building self-esteem.

My Approach

I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel seen and heard. Because every age requires a different touch, my approach is developmentally responsive and tailored to your child’s specific needs:

  • For Children: I use Play Therapy techniques, allowing kids to express themselves and process emotions through creativity and engagement.

  • For Teens & Young Adults: I integrate Gestalt therapy to build self-awareness and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) to provide practical, “boots-on-the-ground” tools for managing anxiety and challenging unhelpful thought patterns.

Working Together

I believe that therapy is a collaborative journey. Whether we are working through a difficult transition or building healthier coping strategies, my goal is to help your child understand their unique strengths and move forward with confidence.

Taking the first step into therapy is a brave move for any family. I am here to support you and your child through that process with compassion, creativity, and care.
