Nicole Walters

Nicole Walters (she/her) is a counseling intern from Arcadia University, who provides therapy to children, adolescents, young adults, and families from a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach. Nicole believes in the creation of a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship to help clients heal and grow, thus more successfully attaining their goals.

Nicole uses a humanistic lens to empower clients with the knowledge and skills to improve their well-being. With particular interest in practicing emotion-focused therapies, Nicole’s empathic and gentle approach helps guide clients through their experiences and toward a path of fulfillment. Nicole works collaboratively with clients to find out what works best for them. Recognizing that all clients are different, Nicole utilizes flexibility and creativity to focus on the whole person and the integration of mind and body.

Nicole has previous experience working with children and adult clients in non-profit organizations in and around Philadelphia. Her goal is to provide high quality mental health services to all members of the community, with a strong focus and understanding of multicultural components. Nicole is currently working on a Masters of Arts degree in Counseling with a focus in Trauma at Arcadia University, and she received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from West Chester University. She has additional training in Play Therapy, Sandtray Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Family Therapy. Nicole completed her graduate-level practicum here at CFCE where she co- facilitated our CHILL program and gained expertise in working with groups, children of varying ages, expressive arts, and skill building.

In addition to her passion for the field of mental health, Nicole’s other interests include reading, yoga, and discovering new and delicious restaurants in Philadelphia.
