Michelle Jurgens Brooks

Are you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected?
Taking the first step toward therapy is a courageous act—it shows you’re ready to heal and find a path forward. Perhaps you’re feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, struggling to manage a past trauma, or finding it hard to connect with your child or family. Whatever you’re facing, I am here to create a space where you feel truly safe, seen, and supported.
For over 20 years, I have had the privilege of walking alongside children, teens, and adults on their journey toward healing. In our work together, we’ll explore the challenges you’re facing and uncover the strengths you already possess. My goal is to empower you with the tools and insight you need to navigate life’s challenges with more confidence and peace.
My Approach
Your journey is uniquely your own, and our work together should reflect that. I use a range of evidence-based approaches, tailoring our sessions to meet you exactly where you are.
I bring specialized training in the following areas:
- Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT): To help you understand and transform difficult emotional patterns and build stronger, more secure relationships.
- Child-Centered Play & Sand Tray Therapy: Creating a safe and creative space for children to process their world and express what words cannot.
- Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP): For healing relational and developmental trauma within families and strengthening bonds.
- Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT): Providing concrete skills to help you manage difficult emotions, reduce stress, and improve your relationships.
- EMDR: To help you process and heal from trauma, anxiety, and other painful life experiences.
Who I Work With
I am passionate about working with individuals and families across the lifespan—from children and adolescents to young adults and parents. Every season of life brings its own unique set of challenges, and with it, a powerful opportunity for growth and transformation.
I am honored to support you in finding your way forward.
I’ve made my home in South Jersey for nearly 15 years with my husband, young daughter, and two rescue dogs. Outside of work, I find fulfillment in simple, everyday moments and cherish time spent with my family, friends, and colleagues who feel like family. I value meaningful connections with others, exploring new places, and celebrating the journey of self-discovery in those I love.
“We are always in a perpetual state of being created and creating ourselves.”-Dan Siegel
