Shaindy Black

Shaindy Black, MSW, LSW (she/her) is a Licensed Social Worker dedicated to empowering individuals and families through compassionate and evidence-based practices. She approaches social work with a holistic and trauma-informed perspective, recognizing the interconnectedness of social, environmental, and psychological factors in shaping human life. Guided by compassion, empathy, and a commitment to social justice, Shaindy strives to make a meaningful difference in the lives of her clients – one person, one family, and one community at a time. With a focus on resilience and growth, Shaindy supports individuals in navigating life’s challenges and reaching their aspirations. Through cultivating a secure and non-judgmental environment, she ensures that clients of all ages are not just listened to –  but truly understood and encouraged to embark on their journeys towards positive change.

Shaindy is extensively trained in Sand Play Therapy, offering a client-centered approach to provide a safe and nurturing environment for individuals to explore their inner worlds, express their emotions, and embark on a journey of self-discovery and growth. Collaborating closely with her clients, Shaindy identifies their strengths, goals, and needs, supporting them in navigating life’s challenges and achieving positive outcomes through the transformative potential of sand.

With expertise in working with families affected by ADHD, Shaindy provides tailored strategies and interventions to promote positive outcomes. She supports parents with practical tools and skills to help manage ADHD symptoms at home and school, fostering structured routines and implementing behavior management strategies to support their child’s success and strengthen family relationships.

Shaindy focuses on supporting individuals and families facing the emotional and legal complexities of divorce. With a deep understanding of the toll divorce can take, she offers a safe and non-judgmental space to process feelings, explore options, and find a path forward that honors personal well-being. Recognizing the unique challenges children face during divorce, Shaindy provides compassionate support to help them emerge resilient and empowered.

Shaindy holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from the University of Pennsylvania, with a specialization in Child Welfare and Well-Being, and she earned a Certificate in Law from Penn Carey Law School. Her background includes an Interdisciplinary BA from Touro University, where she studied Psychology and Computer Science. She completed a Social Science fellowship at CHILD USA, a non-profit think tank working to preserve and strengthen children’s rights. She volunteered at CASA, serving as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for children in foster care.

Shaindy enjoys beaches and travel, and she loves to camp with the horses at Assateague Island.
