How I Can Help
Hi, I’m Abby!
I am a graduate student at Rowan University, where I am completing my Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree. I’m passionate about helping others feel seen, heard, and empowered. For me, becoming a therapist felt like a natural path to continue the meaningful work of helping people feel supported in their lives.
My Journey to Counseling
Before beginning my graduate studies, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Rowan University. I also spent two years studying American Sign Language at Rowan College at Burlington County.
I’ve had a range of experiences that have shaped my counseling approach. I worked as a case manager, supporting people with complex mental health needs. I’ve also worked with adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities in a vocational setting. These experiences have taught me the importance of approaching counseling with empathy, a holistic focus on client strengths, and evidence-based practices.
My goal is to create a safe and collaborative environment where you can feel supported in exploring your challenges and building resilience. My clinical interests include working with individuals experiencing:
- Emotional dysregulation
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
- Neurodivergence – ADHD, Autism
Working With Kids and Teens
I also believe in the power of early intervention and creating a space where kids and teens feel comfortable to be themselves. For children, play is their natural language. By using play therapy, I can help your child express their feelings and process difficult experiences in a way that feels safe and fun for them. I create a collaborative environment with parents to ensure that we are working as a team to support your child’s emotional growth and well-being.
A Little About Me
Outside of my work, I find joy in the simple things that keep me grounded, like doing puzzles, spending time with my cats, or going on Target runs. I also love getting together with friends for scary movie nights and playing video games.
I look forward to the opportunity to support you on your journey. If you think we might be a good fit, please feel free to reach out.
