About this Workshop

Why treat the child in isolation when the healing happens in the relationship? This 3-hour intensive introduces clinicians to the power of systemic play. We move beyond individual “play time” to show how parents can become co-regulators and agents of change. This workshop covers the rationale for family play, strategies for preparing skeptical parents, and specific interventions designed to repair attachment ruptures. Participants will leave with three ready-to-use interventions and a framework for managing the unique challenges of multi-person play sessions.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Articulate the clinical rationale and neurobiological advantages of including parents in the play therapy process.
  2. Identify and troubleshoot three common challenges in family play (e.g., parental over-control, sibling rivalry, and “messiness”).
  3. Execute a “Parent Prep” session that increases caregiver buy-in and reduces performance anxiety.
  4. Demonstrate at least five play-based interventions specifically targeted at assessment, repairing attachment ruptures, and building attunement.

Registration Fee: $110

Registration may be canceled with a full refund (minus credit card processing fees and a $25 administrative fee) by contacting info@cfcenj.com with this request a minimum of 30 days prior to Day 1 of the workshop.
