Supporting Children, Teens, and Young Adults

Growing up and navigating today’s world can feel incredibly overwhelming. Whether you are a young adult trying to find your footing, a teen facing school stress, or a parent looking for support for your child, I am here to help.

I’m Mia, a Licensed Social Worker (LSW). My goal is to create a collaborative, down-to-earth space where you or your child can feel safe, heard, and completely free to be yourselves. I believe therapy works best when it’s a partnership, and I tailor my approach to match your unique strengths, background, and goals.

My Approach to Care

No two clients are exactly alike, so I draw from a variety of proven therapeutic styles to fit what you need most. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for reframing tough thought patterns, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for managing big emotions, and play therapy to help younger children express themselves naturally.

My background is deeply rooted in supporting young people through some of life’s most complex challenges, including:

  • Anxiety, Depression, & Stress: Helping clients manage daily overwhelm, academic pressure, and emotional regulation.

  • Grief, Loss, & Trauma: Guiding individuals and families through the painful process of healing after a loss or difficult life event.

  • Chronic Illness & Medical Trauma: Supporting children and families facing the unique emotional toll of physical illness.

Background and Experience

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Rutgers University and my Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania, specializing in Child Welfare & Wellbeing and School Social Work.

Before entering private practice, I gained invaluable experience doing intensive in-home therapy with families, providing oncology social work in pediatric hospitals, and supporting students within special education environments. This background gives me a deep understanding of the school and social pressures young people face, allowing me to connect with them in a way that feels genuinely meaningful and age-appropriate.

Outside the Therapy Room

To keep myself grounded, I love spending quality time with my friends and family, taking trips to the Jersey Shore, and exploring new local coffee shops. These simple joys keep me mindful and energized, bringing a sense of warmth and authenticity into every session.

If you think we’d be a good fit, I would love the opportunity to connect and work toward your goals together.
