Amanda Luisi, MA, LPC

Life isn’t always easy and sometimes it moves at a quicker pace than we may initially realize — with pressure to get it “right,” to keep moving, to hold it all together, even when things inside feel messy. Whether you’re navigating a tough transition, coping with grief, stuck in cycles of anxiety or overwhelm, or wrestling with big emotions like anger or shame, I’m here to walk alongside you. You don’t have to go it alone.

I’m a relational, strengths-based, trauma-informed therapist who believes that healing happens in a safe, supportive connection. Together, we’ll create a space where you can be seen and heard without judgment — whether that means deep conversations, expressive work, practical strategies, some light humor and laughter, or a little bit of everything.

I work with children, teens, adults, couples, and families, tailoring sessions to meet your unique personality and goals. I draw from evidence-based approaches like CBT, DBT, play and expressive therapies, IFS-informed parts work, somatic exercises, and attachment-based frameworks. Therapy with me might include mindfulness, creative tools, skill-building, or simply space to breathe and be.

I support clients navigating a wide range of experiences, including trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, OCD, borderline personality traits, and emotional regulation challenges. I also work with individuals processing grief and loss, navigating life transitions, struggling with eating disorders or chronic illness, and rebuilding self-esteem. I provide affirming care for my clients, support for veterans, and help with identity exploration, parenting challenges, and neurodivergence, including autism and an ADHD specialty with my ADHD-CCSP certification. My work also includes supporting those impacted by domestic violence, divorce, teen violence, and sexual abuse — always with a focus on building resilience and restoring a sense of safety and agency. I especially enjoy working with couples to strengthen communication, rebuild trust, and navigate conflict in a way that supports secure connection.

My path to this work began at New York University (NYU), where I received my M.A. in Applied Psychology with a concentration in Mental Health & Wellness Counseling. I also hold a B.A. in Psychology from Kean University. Before becoming a therapist, I spent nearly a decade in management in a wellness related career field and spent a few years as a behavioral therapist in the ABA field; working with neurodivergent children and teens. My past experiences help me deeply understand what it’s like to pivot, question your identity, or find purpose in the middle of uncertainty, or simply stepping out to meet a life goal.

Outside of the therapy space, I’m a lifelong learner, mom, and partner. I love a good sunset and you can often find me spending time outdoors, enjoying meaningful connections, reading in my cozy chair, and enjoying the quiet joy of being fully present with the people I care about.

If you’re ready to begin or continue your healing process, I’d be honored to support you — wherever you are in your journey. Let’s find the way forward, together.
