Supporting Children, Families, and Adult Trauma Survivors
I hold close to the powerful wisdom of poet Maya Angelou: “Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.” I live by this principle every day, and it sits at the very heart of my therapeutic approach. Therapy isn’t about judging where you’ve been—it’s about learning, growing, and giving yourself the grace to heal.
I’m Robin Haack, MSW, LCSW. For over twenty-five years, I have had the privilege of walking alongside individuals and families as they navigate some of life’s most difficult landscapes.
My Philosophy and Approach to Care
I strongly believe that you are the ultimate expert in your own life and healing journey. You already hold deep inner wisdom; my role as your therapist is simply to provide a safe, respectful environment and the evidence-based tools to help bring that wisdom to light.
My career began in community mental health and at a specialized sexual abuse and assault treatment center. That foundational work shaped my understanding of complex trauma and drove me to pursue advanced, specialized training in modalities that promote profound healing:
-
Trauma Recovery for Adults: I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Sand Tray Therapy to help adult survivors of sexual abuse and complex trauma process painful memories safely without having to rely on words alone.
-
Child, Teen, & Family Therapy: I subscribe to the principle that play is a child’s natural language. Drawing on extensive training in play therapy, child development, and family systems, I help kids and teens process big emotions and help families rebuild strong, healthy connections.
