Chenell Lassiter, Counseling Intern

Specialist in Life Transitions, OCD (ERP), & Child/Adolescent Growth

Stepping Off Autopilot and Into Intention.

How often do you find yourself moving through life on autopilot—meeting expectations, taking care of everyone else, and staying busy without pausing to ask, “Is this actually working for me?” Realizing you need a change is a courageous first step, but navigating that change alone can feel overwhelming.

After spending nearly two decades in the corporate world before answering my call to counseling, I intimately understand the courage it takes to pivot, re-evaluate priorities, and build a life aligned with what truly matters. I bring that grounded, real-world experience into every session, creating a warm, empathetic space where you can slow down, gain clarity, and move forward at a pace that feels right for you.

Structured Tools for Specialized Needs

Alongside my person-centered approach, I bring specialized, evidence-based training to support clients navigating complex challenges:

  • Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD: Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder can make life feel impossibly small. Using ERP—the gold-standard treatment for OCD—I provide a structured, compassionate framework to help you face intrusive thoughts and break free from the cycle of compulsions.

  • Child & Adolescent Therapy (Play Therapy & TraumaPlay): Children process the world differently than adults. Using Play Therapy and TraumaPlay, I help young clients explore big emotions, heal from difficult experiences, and build healthy coping skills in a medium that feels natural to them.

  • ADHD & Executive Functioning Support: Helping individuals navigate the unique hurdles of an ADHD brain with practical strategies and neurodiversity-affirming care.

Areas of Focus & How I Help:

  • Life Transitions & Career Shifts: Supporting adults through burnout, career changes, parenting shifts, and personal identity shifts.

  • Boundary Setting & Overcoming People-Pleasing: Helping you stop putting yourself last, clarify your values, and set healthy boundaries without guilt.

  • Relationship & Parenting Pressures: Navigating the competing demands of family life, school stress, and relationship dynamics.

My Approach to Therapy

I believe therapy should be a true partnership. Whether I am sitting on the floor using play-based interventions with a child or helping an adult untangle corporate burnout, my goal is the same: to help you develop greater self-awareness, build practical tools, and foster meaningful change.

Beyond the Session

When I’m not in the office, you’ll usually find me recharging outdoors—whether that’s on local walking trails or at the beach—or spending time with my family and my dog, Meeko.
