About this Workshop
Why treat the child in isolation when the healing happens in the relationship? This 3-hour intensive introduces clinicians to the power of systemic play. We move beyond individual play therapy to show how parents can become co-regulators and agents of change. This workshop covers the rationale for family play, strategies for preparing skeptical parents, assessment techniques, and specific interventions designed to repair attachment ruptures. Participants will leave with numerous ready-to-use interventions and a framework for managing the unique challenges of multi-person play sessions.
Using a demonstrative case study, we will demonstrate at least 8 of the interventions, and you will go home with ready-to-implement descriptions of over 60 Family Play Therapy interventions.
Feedback from Participants
I thoroughly enjoyed this workshop! It was interactive and a bit experiential, with practice that helped me quickly, yet thoroughly learn how to implement some new strategies with clients/families. I already felt confident in utilizing the strategies walking out of the workshop. The activities are evidence-based; we were able to see first-hand how useful they can be in learning a lot about the client/family as well as building attachment bonds. Meg Clark Soriano is a calming, wise presence who helps everyone feel comfortable working together. The slides that she shares are informative and thorough. I appreciate having them to review specifics about OCD. I highly recommend this workshop and any others presented by Meg.
