Every Story Deserves to Be Heard

Hi, I’m Jamie! For 22 years, I had the privilege of helping young children learn, grow, and believe in themselves as an early childhood educator. Those years continue to shape the therapist I strive to be.

Working with young children taught me that even the littlest ones can carry the weight of the world on their tiny shoulders. I saw anxiety, grief, family changes, low self-esteem, and overwhelming emotions show up in the classroom long before children had the words to explain what they were feeling. Those experiences inspired me to become a therapist so I could continue walking alongside others in a different, but equally meaningful way. Although my role has changed, my heart for helping others has remained the same.

As a counseling intern completing my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at The College of New Jersey, I look forward to supporting children, teens, adults, and families as they navigate life’s challenges with compassion, curiosity, and a genuine desire to help them discover their own strengths.

My Approach

I believe meaningful change begins with a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, connection, and compassion. I strive to create a warm, supportive environment where clients feel safe enough to share their story, knowing they will be met with empathy, acceptance, and without judgment.

My approach is person-centered and strengths-based, tailored to each client’s unique needs. With children, I use developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed, play-based interventions to help them express emotions, build confidence, and develop healthy coping skills. With teens and adults, I primarily integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while working toward meaningful change. Whether I’m getting down on the floor with a child or sharing a moment of laughter with an adult, I believe those authentic moments often lay the foundation for lasting growth.

Supporting Children, Women, and Families

I am passionate about helping children find their voice through play while also supporting women as they navigate some of life’s most challenging seasons.

Supporting children as they navigate anxiety, ADHD, trauma, emotional regulation challenges, and life transitions is one of the most meaningful parts of my work. My goal is to help them build confidence, resilience, and healthy coping skills in a safe and supportive environment.

I have a special interest in working with women navigating ADHD, anxiety, infertility, and life’s many transitions. My hope is to create a space where women feel understood, supported, and hopeful as they move toward healing.

I also value partnering with parents and caregivers by offering support, encouragement, and practical strategies as they navigate the joys and challenges of raising their children. I believe caregivers play an essential role in a child’s growth and healing.

Continuing to Learn and Grow

I believe that learning is essential to becoming the best therapist I can be. I have completed professional training in AutPlay, Child-Centered Play Therapy, Family Play Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, childhood grief, and play-based interventions for pediatric OCD. I also remain committed to expanding my knowledge of women’s mental health, with a particular interest in ADHD and infertility.

Beyond the Therapy Office

Outside of the therapy office, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our three Golden Retrievers, Nittany, Portland, and Magnolia. I also love relaxing at the beach, cheering on the Phillies, reading, and spending time outdoors.

Whether you’re seeking support for yourself or someone you love, I would be honored to walk alongside you as you continue writing your story, one of growth, healing, and hope. I look forward to welcoming you to the Center for Counseling and Education, where every story deserves to be heard.
