Huti Cooper
Hutokhshi (Huti) Cooper, MSW, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at the Center for Counseling and Education (CFCE) in Marlton. She has worked in the field of education for the last 15 years providing services for youth and children with mental health, behavioral, intellectual, and emotional needs.
In her practice as a therapist, Huti utilizes an integrated approach with a focus on client-centered, trauma-informed and strength-based interventions. She is especially attuned to the influence of race, ethnicity, religion, culture and socioeconomics in her work with individuals and families.
Huti recognizes and understands the impact that disabilities and trauma can have on a child. She has specialized training in Behavior Management for youth. Huti is also a certified Traumatic Brain Injury Specialist and supports youth to rebuild their self-image and achieve their fullest potential.
Having studied meditation, relaxation, and mindfulness for several decades, Huti is passionate about helping her clients benefit from these techniques to help with symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression. She utilizes self-compassion, reflective thinking and creative visualization to support clients in identifying solutions.
Huti holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and English, and a Master of Social Work from Bombay University. She initially worked in India coordinating literacy and women’s projects in urban and rural areas as well as teaching social work classes at the university level. She has been a field supervisor to social work students and conducted research on self-help initiatives in the slum communities of Mumbai. After relocation to the US and spending time raising her children, Huti began working with children with special needs and has extensive experience in this area. She is also a qualified MSW intern supervisor, mentoring students, staff and paraprofessionals in multiple settings.
