Rachel Chmelko
As a dedicated therapist-in-training at Arcadia University, Rachel Chmelko (she/her/hers) is here to help children, teens, young adults, and families find a path forward when life feels overwhelming. Rachel understands how hard it can be to watch your child struggle, whether it’s with anxiety, behavior challenges, or feeling disconnected from those around them. Her mission is to create a safe, welcoming space where every client feels understood and supported.
Rachel’s approach is warm, client-centered, and trauma-informed. She draws from mindfulness practices, self-expression through art, and her deep understanding of attachment and early life experiences to help clients uncover how their past shapes their present. For Rachel, therapy is about helping children and families gain insight into their challenges and discover new ways to connect, grow, and thrive together.
With a B.A. in Psychology from Guilford College, Rachel brings a wealth of experience to her work. She has led groups for young adults and adults navigating anxiety and depression, worked as a registered behavior technician supporting neurodivergent children, and served as a lead preschool teacher. These roles have reinforced her belief that real growth happens in the context of caring, trusting relationships.
Rachel is especially passionate about helping families understand one another on a deeper level. She works with parents to uncover how early life experiences and relationships impact their child’s development and behavior, empowering them to build stronger bonds at home.
Outside the therapy room, Rachel enjoys hiking, writing poetry, cheering for the Phillies, and spending time with loved ones—especially her cats.
Rachel looks forward to partnering with your family to create a brighter, more connected future.
