Rachel Chmelko

Rachel Chmelko (she/her/hers) is a Masters in Counseling student at Arcadia University. Rachel is passionate about working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families who are struggling and feel stuck on how to move through it. She believes in using a warm, client-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally thoughtful approach to help each client feel safe to explore and more deeply understand themselves and the situation they find themselves in. And from there, to view and approach them in new ways.

Rachel often focuses on attachment and childhood, hoping to help clients understand how their important relationships and early life experiences are impacting them. She utilizes mindfulness practices and self-expression through different forms of art when working with clients.

Rachel has a B.A. in Psychology from Guilford College. In the past five years, she has led groups for young adults and adults living with anxiety and depression. She has worked with children, including neurodivergent children, as a lead preschool teacher and registered behavior technician. Each of these experiences strengthened her belief that all learning and growing needs to involve a caring, trusting relationship. She hopes to be that for her clients, and to help the families she works with become that for each other.

In her free time, Rachel likes to hike, listen to music, read and write poetry, go to Phillies games, and spend time with loved ones (especially her cats).

She is excited to meet and work with you!
